The intimacy dimension emphasizes the closeness of feelings between two people and the strength that binds them together. They are able to forgive and accept each other, especially when they disagree or make mistakes. The commitment dimension is defined as a decision to stay with a partner in life. Commitment also means paying attention, doing something that keeps a relationship going, protecting it from harm, and fixing it when it's in a critical state.
