Are There Really Different Types of Love?

John Allan Lee, an anthropologist, managed to identify that love consists of 6 different types. The identification is known as the six colors of love or 'six colors of love'. Lee distinguishes there are three primary loves, namely eros, ludus, and storge, and three types of secondary love, namely mania, pragma, and agape. Meanwhile, Clyde Hendrick & Susan Hendrick also succeeded in identifying six different types of love, namely passionate love, game-playing love, friendship love, practical love, dependent love, and selfless love. In addition to the three typologies of love above, there are still divisions of different types of love. Almost every culture has its own division. For example, there are those who divide love into 4 types, namely the type of love for fire, love for water, love for air, and love for earth. There are also those who divide it based on animal mythology, such as love of dogs, love of pigeons, and others. In short, love does have types. This book will only discuss the typology of love according to Robert Sternberg, namely the love triangle and the six colors of love from John Allan Lee. Both are discussed here because they are the most widely used typologies in the academic world, therefore they are quite verified.
